Capabilities

A transcultural consumer herself, Valerie understands the roles that culture and context play in influencing beliefs, attitudes and behavior and is the author of Beyond Translation; The Marketer's Field Guide to Understanding Today's Transcultural Consumer which delivers insight and strategy into connecting with the consumers of the top three emerging majorities in the US:  the Hispanic/Latino, Pacific-Asian and Asian-Indian markets.

Valerie has worked as an independent qualitative research consultant since 2003. Prior to launching Moving Target Research International, she worked at America’s leading research houses where she developed and honed her skills from the ground up, literally; recruiting participants in the field, interviewing respondents on-site, moderating dyads and triads in-language, managing and fielding multiple consumer projects across time zones.

In her previous life, Valerie was a producer and managed all aspects of global advertising production for general market, Hispanic and International clients. Twenty years of cross-cultural business experience combined with a hands-on approach means Valerie lives by the golden rule of never taking anything for granted by anticipating and preparing accordingly. She is a graduate from The New School Parsons and holds her degree in Communication Design.

Born in Paris, France, Valerie, a self-proclaimed aging hipster and design addict, crosses the transcultural divide time and again, between Barcelona, London, Madrid, Manhattan, San Francisco, South Beach and Malibu.

Currently, Valerie is developing “A Day in the Life of the Next 4 Billion”. From Mumbai to Mexico City, Shanghai to São Paolo, this ethnographic documentary series features the personal stories, rituals and intimate moments of the every day lives of next 4 billion.
